Snapdraw Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains the app-specific data practices for Snapdraw, a Reddit Devvit app that runs a live contest room inside Reddit. Reddit and Devvit also process information under their own platform terms and privacy notices.

Data Snapdraw uses

Snapdraw uses the minimum Reddit and Devvit context needed to run a live room and moderator-controlled draw:

Reddit and Devvit context such as the current post, subreddit, user identifier, username, and moderator status.
Presence state for joined users, including username, role, room position, and avatar orientation.
Chat text and emote selections that users choose to send in the room.
Lottery state, including draw configuration, selected winners, and the last eligible participant snapshot used for the wheel reveal.

How Snapdraw uses data

To join a user to the correct Reddit post room.
To render realtime movement, chat bubbles, and emotes.
To identify moderators who can operate draw controls.
To select winners from the eligible joined participant pool.
To rate-limit room chat and emote sends.

Storage and retention

Snapdraw stores short-lived app state in Devvit-hosted Redis and broadcasts room updates through Devvit Realtime.

Presence state is retained for up to five minutes after the room stops refreshing it, and active rooms refresh that expiration.
Chat and emote rate-limit keys expire after about two seconds.
Lottery sessions expire after up to twenty-four hours unless a moderator resets the current session earlier.
Snapdraw does not store a separate chat history or emote history in its app storage.

Sharing and external services

Snapdraw does not sell redditor data and does not use external HTTP services for its current app flow. Room updates are shared with users in the same Snapdraw post through Reddit and Devvit features so the live experience can work.

Your choices

You can leave a Snapdraw room by closing the experience or leaving the post.
You choose whether to send chat text or emotes in the room.
Subreddit moderators control whether Snapdraw is installed in their community and whether a lottery session is reset.

Children and sensitive data

Do not use Snapdraw to submit passwords, financial data, health data, or other sensitive personal information. Snapdraw is not intended to collect data from anyone who is not permitted to use Reddit.

This policy may be updated when Snapdraw changes its functionality, data handling, or legal obligations. The updated date above identifies the current version.
